My experiences in Learning Design and Technology reflect a growing commitment to designing meaningful, learner-centered experiences that support engagement and real-world application. A central component of my LDT experience includes my experience as a course developer for the Purdue FORCES project (MS in Strategy in Security and Defense Technologies) and as a Learning Manager for the Data and AI Storytelling program. In these roles, I contributed to needs analysis, curriculum and content development, and course evaluations.
During my time working in the FORCES project, I worked closely with several SMEs with various backgrounds, supporting faculties or experts to design and develop courses as a part of a new Master’s program in the Strategy in Security and Defense Technologies in the College of Liberal Arts. It has been an honor to work with great minds and intelligent individuals in a field in which I had no previous experience. During the three years working with the project, I’ve helped create over 50 course videos, implemented 7 courses into Brightspace, and engaged in course implementations as learning managers to help monitor students’ engagement and course evaluations. Here is a LinkedIn post about me in the FORCES team spotlights.
Another experience where I gained strong LDT skills is working as the learning manager for the Data and AI Storytelling Certificate and course (SCLA 51000). I’ve worked with Dr. Matei in supporting the daily management of certificate versions and contributing to course improvements on AI integrations that connect innovative technology and concepts with course content. I’ve developed new AI assignments for each module and support the facilitation of the new elevation. These experiences demonstrate my ability as an instructional designer to align the content with recent trends and the ability to put theories into practice.
Above all, my role as learning manager and course developer often involved leading the design and development of instructional materials, facilitating communication among team members, and ensuring that deliverables met both pedagogical and practical standards. These experiences strengthened my teamwork and project management skills, particularly in coordinating across interdisciplinary teams. Additional LDT experience and projects are presented below.
